On the shelves

A little of everything you would find in a grocery store, from local farmers and small family businesses. Stock changes with the season and new makers arrive all the time, so call if you are looking for something in particular.

  • Dairy and eggs

    Milk, butter, cheese and eggs.

    Bread, plus pastries and baked goods that rotate.

    Steaks, sausages and other local meats in the cooler.

  • Grab and go

    Sandwiches made with local bread, meat and produce. Coffee, tea and kombucha too.

    Whatever local farms are growing right now.

Brooke and Dave Franklin

“I wanted to create a place where you could go to get local, support local, and also know you're getting clean ingredients.”

Before opening the store, Brooke worked as an urban conservationist with the USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service, helping farmers work more sustainably, and taught food sustainability at Johnson County Community College. Working with farmers, she saw how few places there were for them to sell outside the farmers market, and how hard it was for shoppers to find clean ingredients.

Brooke and Dave live in Shawnee, and wanted the store in their hometown's downtown. They opened in June 2025 in the old white house at Johnson Drive and Flint Street: one stop for local groceries, the way shopping worked before big box stores.
